When to Replace Your paint Booth lighting
When should you replace all of your booth lighting? The best time to is when you have more than 40% of your lights out. Most booths have about 10 4 tube light fixtures. That equals 40 light tubes or more so if you have 16 or more tubes out replace them all with new color corrective light tubes. At the same time your are replacing the light tubes check into replacing the ballast. Over time the power output from the ballast weakens that means less light even with new light tubes.Cleaning the Light Lens and Fixture.
Remove the paint over spray from both the outside and inside of the glass light cover. It's easy when the glass lens is removed for maintenance. Wet the lens with a glass cleaner and scrape the over spray off with a new sharp razor blade wipe clean with a dry cloth or paper towel. Wipe down or blow out the fixture at this time to remove any dust that has accumulated inside the fixture.
Choosing the Right Light Tube.
Use quality brand name light tubes. They will give you the best performance and longevity. Color correctness is a major concern using the right CRI and K temperature is critical for color matching. Lights in the 5000K and a CRI of 83 and higher give out a white light color the best for color match in a paint booth.
